Well, it's a lovely piece, I like music and a song like Suzanne is definitely poetry in my book. There's a Dutch cover that is magical, too.

Thank you for writing beautiful posts, Sunil.

What a beautiful post. Leonard Cohen and Pico Iyer, sigh! I first heard of Cohen when a relative who is an English professor gave me his name as part of a reading list he gave me. For me, one of the early joys of youtube was discovering and listening to multiple versions of Hallelujah - and The Little Drummer Boy.

Have you also written on Bob Dylan?

OH OH OH!

My goodness, this is going to be my saved Uncut episode. For so many reasons, obviously Cohen but also because of how you open yourself up in the writing! and engaging with the Zen aspect of Cohen in this episode/article too.

Watch Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Cohen if not done already

Sunil - thank you for this

Thank you Kashiana! All of us who discovered Cohen whilst growing up, can probably chart some of their lives to the songs he sang......he's so precious.

Just found the film you recommended! On YouTube. This is precious - Cohen as stand-up comedian (I sneaked in 5 minutes of it!!!). I'm gonna see it today.
